Pictured above is Alexander Maltsev, a true Soviet superstar of the 1970s.
Though he had disappointing showing in the 1972 Summit Series, he was a 2 time Olympic gold medalist, 9 time world champion, 3 time World Championships best forward and a 1976 Canada Cup all star.
Maltsev is one of 19 Soviet players to receive color photo upgrades or add ons at my other website, 1972 Summit Series.com. Other players include Alexander Gusev, Vladimir Lutchenko, Alexander Ragulin, rarely seen back up goalie Alexander Sidelnikov, Gennady Tsygankov, and Evgeny Zimin.
