This Day In Team Canada History


1932 – Canada 2 - USA 2 tie. Despite 30 minutes of overtime this game ended in a draw. But the tie was good enough to give Canada their 4th consecutive Olympic gold medal championship.

1936 – Canada 6 - Germany 2 - Canada clinched a spot in the medal round by beating the host nation.

1968 – Canada 3 - Czechoslovakia 2 - Canada scored 3 goals in second period.

1984 – Canada 8 - Norway 1 - Dave Gagner with 3 goals and 5 points.

1994 – Canada 7 - Norway 2 - Petr Nedved and Chris Kontos with 2 goals each.

1998 – Canada 5 - Belarus 0 - Canada’s first Olympic hockey game to feature NHLers

2002 – (Women) Canada 7 - Russia 0 - Hayley Wickenheiser had a goal and two assists. Sami Jo Small with the six save shutout.

2010 - (Women) Canada 18 - Slovakia 0 - Jayna Hefford led with 3 goals and 6 points!
