Covered: Bobby Hull

This Hockey Illustrated magazine is from May 1968. The great Bobby Hull is on the cover, and we can see clearly from the headline he seems to dislike practice!

Of course, Bobby Hull needs no introduction. Most experts agree that he is one of the ten greatest players in the history of the game. But just in case you need to brush up on all things Bobby Hull, please read my biography of him.

Here's a quick tidbit for you. Hull was the first player to score more than 50 goals in a single season. When he scored his 51st goal of the 1965-66 season he was given 51 gifts including a hockey stick studded with 51 diamonds, 51 jars of pickles, 51 weeks' supply of tobacco, and 51 tubes of suntan oil. His wife was given gifts including 51 floor mops, while Brett and the other kids were each given 51 clusters of candy bars!
