How NHLers Spent Their Summer Vacation

The September 7th, 2009 issue of The Hockey News has an interesting feature. They look at how 30 NHL players spent their summer vacations. For instance:
  • Curtis Glenncross was a grunt on the Alberta chuckwagon circuit
  • Andrew Ference was a guest speaker at the NDP national convention
  • Jack Johnson and Justin Abdelkader continued their university studies
  • Kris Letang spent 2 and 1/2 hours reeling in a shark off the coast of the Bahamas
  • Believe it or not, Pekka Renne went ice fishing
  • Patrice Brisebois drove in the Canadian NASCAR series
  • Derek Boogaard became good friends with Pavel Datsyuk
  • Eric Fehr spent much of his time in a recliner with both arms in slings following double shoulder surgery.
