Top Ten Most Popular Posts (and a new contest!)

Daily traffic trends have grown amazingly here at Greatest Hockey Legends.com. There have been ten spectacularly received posts that have contributed significantly to my growth numbers than all others.

Here's the top ten most popular articles I've written, based on page views:

10. Weird Hockey Injuries - This recent post was a featured by link by several major media outlets.

9. 2008 Hockey Books - There is no shortage of interest in this bumper crop of hockey books. Christmas is not far away. Get your orders in soon!

8. Greatest Hockey Photos - This was actually a series of 20 posts that appeared while I was on summer vacation. I loved camping through Vancouver Island, but I also loved the feedback and comments I got on this very popular feature.

7. Who Was Better? Wayne Gretzky vs. Mario Lemieux - Oh, the grand-daddy of all hockey debates. I really need to do more of these Who Was Better bits.

6. The Greatest Players Of All Time - Very few things gets people more riled up than attempting to definitively rank the greatest players ever.

5. Who Was Better? Peter Forsberg vs. Eric Lindros - But one of those few things is talking about Eric Lindros!

4. Good Bye Trevor Linden - Some of my emotional tribute to my favorite player ended up in both The Hockey News and the Vancouver Province newspaper.

3. Interview With The Author: The Late Jack Falla Of Open Ice - I completed this interview just a couple of days before his sudden death, and it may be the article I am most proud of. Falla was a true legend of hockey literature. Many of his contemporaries have complimented me on the interview.

2. Top Ten Mustaches In Hockey History - I'm still somewhat disheartened that such a fluff piece outdraws my many feature pieces. I have not only accepted this fact, but have embraced it!

1. Top Ten Hockey Quotes - In this book review of Chris McDonell's book Shooting From The Lip, I list my 10 favorite quotes from a book that has over 400 of them to choose from.

To help celebrate the great success of that book review, the fine folks at Firefly Books are giving away FIVE copies of the wildly popular book Shooting From The Lip by Chris McDonell.

This contest is exclusive to readers of HockeyBookReviews.com! For the next five days I am going to post a famous hockey quote. If you can correctly identify the person who said the quote, you are entered into the draw for that day's giveaway.

And I'm happy to say that this contest is open to everyone around the world. You do not have to have a North American mailing address for this one.

So let's get started. Wander over to HockeyBookReviews.com and enter for your chances to win Shooting From The Lip by Chris McDonell and Firefly Books
