Top Ten Blue Liners Of All Time

On Monday Ted Wyman of the Toronto Sun published his list of the top ten defensemen in NHL history:

All in all a pretty good list. Although I think MacInnis is underrated when it comes to his place in history, I do not quite agree he's top 10 either.

The one missing name that really jumps out at me is Red Kelly. Mind you, Kelly spent a lot of time as a center, too. I'm sure Scott Stevens and Scott Niedermayer might get a lot of support from today's fans. Oldtimers would champion Pierre Pilote or Brad Park or Tim Horton. If you include international careers, Slava Fetisov would be good choice.

Who are your top 10 defensemen of all time? List them in the comments section.

How bout the ones that MADE the top ten the top ten....Dallas Smith in Boston, Charlie Huddy in Edmonton and ya, you can't omit the JC Temblays or the J. Laperrieres. Harry Howe, Allan Stanley, Bobby Baun, Carl Brewer, on and on. I think the top Defenceman should be that....DEFENCEMAN

Brad Park was runner up to Bobby Orr 5 times for the Norris and twice to Dennis Potvin. Some even considered him better on defense than Orr. He was a great stick handler and a great passer, one of the best ever. I believe he should be on the list ahead of Chelios or MacInnis.

Brad Park and Scott Stevens rank ahead of Chelios, MacInnis or Coffey IMO.
