Buying a piece of hockey history

If you have a few extra dollars lying around, you may be interested in purchasing a piece of hockey history. The best place to start looking would be Classic Auctions.net. Please note I am no way affiliated with the auction house.

Just released for auction are 98 items from the Alan Eagleson Collection. While selling off his peronal memoribilia will undoubtedly re-open old wounds, it is a great opportunity to purchase some of the rarest hockey items around. The auction is especially intriguing if you have a keen interest in the 1972 Summit Series or the Canada Cup tournaments.

Possibly designed to off-set rumours of the disgraced hockey czar's financial well being, Eagleson says that he and Classic will make an unspecified "substantial" donation from proceeds to Toronto's Hospital For Sick Children and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Classic Auctions is also selling off memoribilia from Rod Langway, Marcel Paille, Claude Larose, Team Canada 2006 Olympic team, international hockey, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, and Bobby Orr.

The most expensive item currently is Bobby Orr's 1972 Finals game worn jersey at over $13,000US!

Hmmmm. I wonder what a signed letter of authenticity from Alan Eagleson is worth?
