The Hartford Whalers (and the Philadelphia Flyers) experimented with wearing pants instead shorts, or what we call today "hockey pants." These pants, as see above, were known as Cooperalls. As Ron Francis demonstrates here, they even made celebrating a goal look awkward.
It was a short-lived experiment, thankfully.
