Did you know that Maurice “Rocket” Richard appeared with Ed Sullivan? Sullivan, for those who don't know, pre-dated the likes of Jimmy Carson, David Letterman and Jay Leno. On his show on August 14th, 1955, Sullivan invited Rocket Richard and 9 other sporting heroes to the show as part of the first anniversary celebrations for the Sports Illustrated magazine. The show at the time was called Toast of the Town, but not long afterwards was renamed the Ed Sullivan Show.
