Like Father, Like Son: USHL Draft Features Familiar Names


The United States Hockey League draft featured some familiar last names as several kids hope to follow in their successful paths of their fathers.

124 players were selected in total over 8 rounds. There are actually two waves to the draft, spread over two days.

Keiffer Bellows, son of former Minnesota North Stars standout Brian Bellows, was selected 13th overall.

Craig MacTavish's son Sean was drafted 16th overall.

Defenseman Luke McInnis, son of former NHL left wing Marty McInnis, was selected 38th.

Defenseman Callan Foote, son of former NHL defenseman Adam Foote, was 46th.

Tony Amonte's son Ty was selected 233rd and Jason Woolley's son Carter was selected 286th.

Chris Shero, son of Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Ray Shero, was drafted 315th.

Eetu Selanne, son of Teemu, went 335th overall. He played with the Los Angeles Junior Kings this season though his hockey future may see him play in Finland next year.
