2014 Sochi Olympics Award Winners

The media love two things - Teemu Selanne and a good story. So it comes as no surprise that the media named Teemu Selanne as the 2014 Sochi Olympics mens hockey tournament MVP.

Selanne captained Finland to the bronze medal in his sixth Olympics.

Other individual awards, as selected by the directorate of the tournament, went to Canada’s Carey Price as Best Goalkeeper, Sweden’s Erik Karlsson as Best Defenceman and the USA’s Phil Kessel as Best Forward.

The media-selected All Star team featured Henrik Lundqvist in net instead of Price. Karlsson was joined by Drew Doughty on defense while Selanne and Kessel were joined by Mikael Granlund up front.
