Great Goaltending Tandems

On Tuesday night Cory Schneider returns to Vancouver. After teaming the past few seasons with Roberto Luongo, Schneider now finds himself in New Jersey sharing the net with Martin Brodeur.

Needless to say, that got me thinking about the best goaltending tandems in hockey history. I'm not talkng superstar with a great back up. I'm talking two legit stars sharing the net.

We'll give Schneider and Brodeur a little more time before including them with these guys:

That's Terry Sawchuk and Johnny Bower getting ready for a Leafs game in the late 1960s. It's pretty hard to get a better goaltending tandem than that!

Other great tandems include:
  • Glenn Hall and Jacques Plante, St. Louis
  • Al Rollins and Turk Broda, Toronto
  • Billy Smith and Chico Resch, New York Islanders
  • Mike Richter and John Vanbiesbrouck, New York Rangers
  • Grant Fuhr and Andy Moog, Edmonton
  • Ed Belfour and Dominik Hasek, Chicago
