King Clancy's Unforgettable Training Camp

Old King Clancy barely survived his first training camp in Toronto.

From Anne M. Logan in her amazing Clancy biography "Rare Jewel For A King":

"King nearly didn't get past training camp. There was no ice yet in Parry Sound, so they were all "supposed to do a lot of walkin' and runnin' and ended up huntin' partridges in the bush. I'm walking with (Lorne) Chabot, and Busher Jackson is right behind us. A bird flies up and Jackson puts a hole right through my hat. I never saw Chabot so mad. Me, I'm so scared I can't even speak."
