Great Moments In Hockey History: Lanny McDonald Goes Out On Top

May 25, 1989: In the final game of his illustrious career, Lanny McDonald finished off a pretty passing play with Hakan Loob and Joe Nieuwendyk to score the second goal in Game 6 of the 1989 Stanley Cup Final. McDonald's only Playoffs goal that year lifted the Flames to the only Cup in franchise history and marked the only time a visiting team ever won the Cup at the Montreal Forum.

Actually, this was the second time a visiting team won Lord Stanley on Forum ice (the first was in 1928 when the New York Rangers beat the Montreal Maroons). However, this was the only time a visiting team beat Les Habitants to win La Coupe.
