Great Moments In Hockey History: Ron Hextall Scores In Playoffs



April 11, 1989: The Philadelphia Flyers' Ron Hextall became the first goaltender in NHL history to score a goal in Stanley Cup competition. Hextall's shorthanded, empty-net goal helped the Flyers to an 8-5 win over the Washington Capitals and a 3-2 lead in the Patrick Division Semi-Final series.
