1955 - Boston obtained Terry Sawchuk, Vic Stasiuk, Marcel Bonin and Lorne Davis from Detroit, in exchange for Real Chevrefils, Ed Sandford, Norm Corcoran, Gilles Boisvert and Warren Godfrey.

1958 - Toronto Maple Leafs drafted goalie Johnny Bower from the NY Rangers' farm team in Cleveland (of the AHL).

1975 - In the NHL Amateur draft held in Montreal, the Philadelphia Flyers used the #1 pick overall to select Mel Bridgman.

1993 - Eric Desjardins became the 1st NHL defenseman to score a hat trick in the Stanley Cup Finals. His third goal of the game at :51 of OT gave Montreal a 3-2 win over the Kings in Game 2 of the Finals.

2004 - Oleg Saprykin scored the winning goal at 14:40 of overtime to give the Calgary Flames a 3-2 win over the Lightning, in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, in Tampa Bay.
