Pucks On The 'Net: Crosby Shows Jets Fans

A few Pucks on the 'Net for you today:
  • Gotta love Winnipeg fans. Last week when Washington visited, Jets fans taunted Alexander Ovechkin with "Crosby's Better" chants.
  • Last night Mr. Crosby showed Winnipeg fans just how good he can be. He set up four goals in an 8-4 win in Pittsburgh.
  • In just 12 games played this season, Crosby has just 5 fewer assists than Ovechkin, who has played the whole season! Crosby now has 2 goals and 19 assists this season.
  • Evgeny Malkin had his fourth five-point game of the season with two goals and three assists against the Jets. Malkin had three five-point games in his career entering this season.
  • You've got to figure Pittsburgh is the odds on favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Crosby looks good. Evgeni Malkin could win the scoring title and MVP. Marc Andre Fleury is as good as anyone in net. Kris Letang has returned to health.
  • Ales Hemsky scored his first hat trick of his career in a win over Nashville. Hemsky, who is incredibly talented, took over 550 games to get his first hatty.
  • Hemsky became the 5th Oilers player to get a hat trick this season, joining Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall, Ryan Jones and Sam Gagner. No other team has 5 this season.
  • According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time the Oilers had five hat tricksters in one season was 1989-90, which was Edmonton's last Stanley Cup-winning season. Glenn Anderson, Martin Gelinas, Adam Graves, Normand Lacombe and Mark Messier turned the tricks for the Oilers that season.
