Hockey History Helps To Fight Cancer

Angela Holzer of the group  Ovarian Cancer Canada  contacted me to let me know of their most recent fundraising event.  Ovarian Cancer Canada  is auctioning off an autographed team jersey from the 2010 Olympic gold medal winning men's team. The auction is part of their upcoming  LOVE HER  event on February 23rd in Toronto.

That is an amazing piece of hockey history up for grabs, and an amazing way to help fight cancer. I wanted to help spread the word of this auction and this event. Here is more information on the  LOVE HER  event as well as more information on  Ovarian Cancer Canada :

LOVE HER is an event in support of  Ovarian Cancer Canada  to honour and celebrate women and is dedicated to raising awareness about ovarian cancer - the most fatal women's cancer.

This exclusive cocktail reception will be held on February 23, 2012 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto and feature a fashion show by Canadian fashion label JUDITH and CHARLES and the latest footwear by STUART WEITZMAN.

The autographed jersey will be one of our live auction items. For people who cannot attend the event, we will take their calls to allow their participation in the auction. For more information about the auction, please contact me at 1-877-413-7970 ext. 228 or aholzer@ovariancanada.org.

  • Supporting women living with the disease and their families
  • Raising awareness in the general public and with health care professionals
  • Funding research to develop early detection techniques, improved treatment and, ultimately, a cure

Ovarian cancer affects more than 2600 Canadian women yearly. It is the most fatal women’s cancer, and each year, 1750 women lose their lives to this disease.
