C'mon Teeder!

One of my favorite players of all time is Teeder Kennedy. I can't say that I actually saw him play. Instead I rely on first and second hand accounts that I have built up in my own mind to near-mythic proportions I admit. Still, to me Teeder Kennedy will always be the ultimate Stanley Cup playoffs warrior.

Aside from Henderson's 1972 jersey, the headline collection at the current ClassicAuctions.net offering is the Teeder Kennedy collection.

Now I've already made mention of the auction's oddest item - Kennedy's partial dental plate. To my surprise there have been 8 bids on this intimate piece of dentistry. The item is currently listing at $245. Hey, your neighborhood dentist would charge you a whole lot more for your very own.

And I've also mentioned the auction's most fashionable item - Kennedy's 1940s creamy white wool Toronto Maple Leafs cardigan. Anyone would look spectacular wearing this item on the northwest corner of Carlton and Church streets.

There are a total of 36 offerings in the Teeder Kennedy collection, none cooler than his 1945 and 1948 Stanley Cup championship ring. The dynastic Leafs of the 1940s like to celebrate those titles. He also had an ashtray, a silver cigarette box, a watch, and a silver box commemorate those championships.

His Maple Leaf Gardens lifetime pass, Hall of Fame induction ring, Hall of Fame glass panel, game worn skates, and an all star game lighter are among the most interesting items also available.
