Puck On The 'Net

Here's Monday's Slap Shots:
  • Hey, my Canucks looked convincingly good in their game five win over Chicago. So should we have the Stanley Cup parade down Robson Street or through Stanley Park?
  • Everyone knows that the Canucks are in a big hole and that the Hawks will play much better on Tuesday. But a come back is doable. Score early in game six and Vancouver has a good shot at going back to Chicago for game seven, where anything can happen.
  • The hole they dug themselves into is now compounded by injuries. Sami Salo suffered a "lower body injury" (TSN is reporting he has a ruptured testicle - ouch!). He's played quietly well. Aaron Rome hopefully is healthy enough to step in and take his place.
  • What a scary amount of blood Shane O'Brien lost with the stick right between the eyes. TV crews weren't showing all the blood pouring onto the ice, as it was almost sickening to see. There was no penalty as it was the result of a follow through from a shot. I don't understand the logic of that. You have to be responsible for your stick at all times, and if you carve someone up while taking a shot, you should sit.
As always, you can get more Slap Shots and join me in conversation on Twitter @HockeyLegends
