Puck On The 'Net - Bert, The Mule and The Return Of The Jets

Friday's Slap Shots:
  • The only people  happier about Detroit's 7-1 victory over San Jose than Mike Babcock were those who had both Todd Bertuzzi and Johan Franzen in their hockey pools.  Bertuzzi had 1 goal and 4 assists. The Mule had an amazing 4 goals and 6 points. That is a night poolies dream of.
  • The last 4 goal game in Stanley Cup play was back in 2006. Joffrey Lupul scored all of the Ducks goals as Anaheim beat Colorado 4-3. You have to go back to 1995 (Tony Amonte) for the next most-recent occurence.
  • Jaroslav Halak was amazing yet again, robbing the Penguins of a game 4 win. He stopped 33 of 35 shots, keeping Montreal in the contest until Max Lapierre and Brian Gionta struck like lightning early in the third period. Full credit to Montreal for keeping the pedal to the floor in the third period. They outshot the Pens 16-9.
  • The possibility of the Jets returning to Winnipeg may be a little more plausible. Scott Burnside of ESPN.com says Jerry Reinsdorf's bid is dead.
