Babe Ruth On Ice

On the weekend Jeff Z. Klein of the New York Times had a fantastic article about the history of Matthews' Arena, the first (and still active) arena in Boston. Lots of great Boston hockey history in this must-read article.

There was even this tiny snippet:
One winter around 1917, a young Red Sox player named Babe Ruth scrimmaged with the Arena A.C. team. “Finally he said, ‘You guys are crazy,’ and quit.”
