The Montreal Canadiens much hyped centennial celebrations peak this week with Dec. 4th marking the actual 100th anniversary.
Impressive, but the storied Habs are not even the oldest hockey team in the city. That distinction belongs to the McGill Redmen, who play on campus at the Montreal university.
In fact, McGill is the oldest hockey team in the world.
Ranjan Rupal wrote a short piece for the North Bay Nugget newspaper about the team that was founded way back in 1877.
