A very reliable source has told me Igor Vyzamikin died on October 30th, 2009. I have not been able to find an internet link to confirm at this point, and the cause of death is unknown.
Vyazmikin was a star of the 1986 World Junior Championships in Hamilton, Ontario. He later played 4 games with the Edmonton Oilers, but he never reached his potential.
Vyazmikin was just 44 years old. It is eerie how many Russian hockey players have died at young ages.

R.I.P. Igor. That guy had a lot of potential. Just couldn't keep himself away from drinking. Wouldn't be a suprise, if that was the reason for his death.
