Stanley Cup Book Reviews: Quest For The Stanley Cup and Lord Stanley: The Man Behind The Cup

The Stanley Cup playoffs are almost here!

Over at Hockey Book Reviews.com I'm beginning my look at the best books about the Stanley Cup over the years. I'm starting off with the best of the best - 2001's Quest For The Cup, edited by Jack Falla and written by Falla, Jack Batten, Lance Hornby, George Johnson and Steve Milton.

If there was a Conn Smythe trophy for Stanley Cup books, this book may be the strongest contender.

Also check out Lord Stanley: The Man Behind The Cup. It is currently available At Chapters For $4.99. It is the most indepth look at Lord Stanley the man and his family. It almost could pass as a history text book, also looking at Canada at the time and the political climate at the time. It's not light reading, but fascinating nonetheless. The only reason it is in the bargain section is it is coming out in paperback later this year.

I've owned "Quest" since its release, and I can attest that everything you are saying about it is true.
