Will Cornwall Finally Honour Newsy Lalonde?

From the Cornwall Standard-Freeholder:
City council will have an opportunity to correct an incredible oversight when it comes time to passing out names for the new sports facility.

Not the building itself, but one of the three ice pads.

Since two of the ice pads will be replacements for the Si Miller and Bob Turner rinks, it is only proper that the names be transferred.

That gives the city the opportunity to recognize that one of the all-time hockey greats, a legend in Montreal, a National Hockey League Hall of Famer, is from Cornwall.

Edouard "Newsy" Lalonde, who grew up on Pitt Street, across from the old town hall, doesn't even have a mural at the civic complex.
Here's the full story and here's my Newsy Lalonde biography.
