Team Canada Logo Banned From Olympics?

It appears there is a very good chance that Team Canada will not be allowed to wear their famous maple leaf logo in the 2010 Olympic Games.

In a Canadian Press article Chris Johnston writes that while the rule has been in place for some time, the International Olympic Committee began enforcing a national team logo ban at the Beijing summer games.

And the IOC seems to mean business. Brazil and Argentina were both barred from wearing their famous soccer jerseys.

It is bad enough that this is likely the last Olympic games involving NHL players. Now we will not be able to cheer on Canada in their historic jerseys at the Canadian Olympics! It is bad enough Team Canada becomes Team Zepter at the world championships. Now to take away the Team Canada logo (of course, other hockey countries will be in the same boat here) is down right blasphemy.
