Hockey's Believe It Or Not

This is Camille "The Eel" Henry. He was a real fan favorite in New York. He was a slithery center who dazzled opposing defenses and the ticket buying audiences alike.

Following the conclusion of a Rangers/Red Wings 2-2 tie in the 1959-60 season, one fan decided it would be a good idea to steal Henry's stick. Now remember, back then sticks did not come in ample and customized supply like nowadays. Players became very attached to their sticks after spending hours getting just the right feel.

Henry was not about to let this particular stick go. Henry tried to take his stick back, which only resulted in the fan punching the tiny NHL superstar right in the face. The fan then bolted out of the arena.

Though stunned by the sucker punch, Henry was not about to give up. Legend has it he chased the fan out of the arena and into the streets while still wearing his hockey skates!

Henry did regain his trusted piece of lumber, too.
