#2 - Number Four, Bobby Orr

Bobby Orr's Superman pose comes in at #2.

Here is hockey's greatest player at the time, and perhaps of all time, scoring the Stanley Cup winning goal in over time. With a little help from Noel Picard's stick, he celebrates by flying through the air like only he and the Man of Steel could do.

Ensuring immortality, this photo and video of this goal are shown constantly come every playoff season. It is a dramatic image of what every young hockey player dreams of - winning the Stanley Cup.

I don't know how in the world this is #2. If this isn't #1, I can't wait to see what is!

What d-lee said. When I saw mention of this series on OFB, I'd have made book this pic would be #1.

I'm a little skeptical of not putting this at #1. It's by far the most famous image on the list, a picture of the best player in the game "in the moment" of winning a Cup. That's a tough act to beat.

if number one is some lame thing like the first winning team of the stanley cup or some crap, I will be displeased that it put this iconic picture out of first place. What's left?

I guess maybe an empty arena signifying the lockout?

Well said, d-lee... I assumed Orr would be #1 (or if not Orr, then the Miracle on Ice). I'll definitely be tuning in tomorrow. :)
