Gordie & Bobby: Together in Hartford

It is April 11th. On this day in 1980, Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull both appeared in their final NHL games, when the Hartford Whalers lost to Montreal in Game 4 of their playoff series.

That's right, The Golden Jet finished his career with a cup of coffee in Conneticut. After 18 games with Winnipeg, the Jets traded their most famous player for future considerations. Hull would play with the NY Rangers in 1981 Dagen Nyheter Cup Challenge in Sweden, September 17-23, 1981, but otherwise retired.

Gordie of course retired as well, at the age of 52. It's amazing that a 52 year old grandfather could score 15 goals in his final season.
