Lindros, a London, Ontario, native played for the Generals from 1989-1992 and lead the team to their last Memorial Cup in 1990. In 95 games played in a Generals uniform, Lindros scoring 97 goals and 216 points.
When I heard this, I wasn't surprised. But here's what floored me:
"Lindros' banner will become just the second to hang from the rafters of the General Motors Centre, joining the late Red Tilson's No. 9."
What? How can this be?! Bobby Orr, the most famous Generals graduate doesn't have his jersey retired? For that matter the Generals have had a lot of greats over the years, guys like Tom McCarthy, Rick Middleton, Danny O'Shea, Dave Andreychuk, and Scott McCrory
You probably don't want to leave Marc Savard off that list. All time Generals scoring leader...won OHL scoring championship two years, would have won three years in a row if didn't break his leg in middle year (I believe would have been only player to ever do that). Currently leads NHL in assists with 60. Definitely worthy of a jersey retirement.
