For NHL fans it's All Star Game weekend.The NHL All Star Game has kind of degenerated over the years, as detailed nicely by Globe and Mail's Eric Duhatschek. I personally don't take a lot of interest in the game these days. Even the skills competition has lost its appeal on me, although this year's judged breakaway contest will certainly draw my curiosity.
Last year I did post some of my favorite all star game memories in what proved to be a popular post. Has the All Star game really fallen that far? Or was it just fascinations of our youth? Probably a bit of both.
