Pete Peeters

The heart of this website will always be the profiles of former hockey legends. Over the course of this summer I did not add a lot of new biographies. Instead, and when I wasn't camping or enjoying the rare nice summer day here in northern BC, I had NHL Entry Draft history featured extensively in June, was away much of July, kept busy current event specials in August and highlighted the 1972 Summit Series and Canada Cup tournaments here in September.

Yesterday I got back into profile mode, writing about career of "Sneaky Pete" Pierre Turgeon. Today I return with another all new profile, and a profile I've been wanting to tackle for quite some time now: 1980s goaltending standout Pete Peeters!

His work in 1979-80 with the Flyers, 1982-83 with the Bruins and in the 1984 Canada Cup are extreme peaks in a highlight filled career. Unfortunately Peeters was rarely able to find post season success, tarnishing a legacy that should have him remembered as one of the best goaltenders of the 1980s.
