Niedermayer Brothers Celebrate Together

In 2003, it was brother vs. brother.

Rob Niedermayer was a late season addition to an Anaheim Ducks team that proved to be too mighty for the entire Western Conference.

Scott Niedermayer was a two time Stanley Cup champion, leading the New Jersey Devils on the hunt for the third.

The series was tough on the Niedermayer's parents. They wanted both to win, but one, in this case Rob, had to lose. Mother Carol, a former power skating instructor who taught the siblings how to skate, was candid in hoping for Rob since he never had won the Stanley Cup.

2007 proved to be much easier on the Niedermayer family, as the two brothers led the Anaheim Ducks to the Stanley Cup. They are the first brothers to share a Stanley Cup victory since Duane Sutter and Brent Sutter of the 1982 and 1983 New York Islanders.
