Kerry Fraser misses the cut

While active legend Chris Chelios surpasses Ray Bourque's record with his 22nd NHL playoffs appearance, another NHL veteran will miss his first NHL playoffs in 20 years.

Kerry Fraser failed to make the cut of 20 referees and 20 linesmen who will be working in the 2007 playoffs.

The 54 year old, known for his perfect hair, is the longest serving referee in NHL history. He has overseen over 1600 games since 1980.

Perhaps news of his exclusion shouldn't be too much of a surprise. Though his 257 playoff games leads all active referees, he only officiated 4 games in the 2006 playoffs.
